Changing the Drupal Theme
- Install and enable a new theme*
Choose a suitable theme from the official Drupal website (https://www.drupal.org/project/project_theme) Copy the link to the .zip or .tar.gz file
Go to ‘Appearance > Install new theme‘ on the ISCBSC (themetest/test) site and paste the copied url in the ‘Install from a URL’ field. Paste this link in the ‘install new theme’ part of your Drupal website Enable the newly added theme, go back to ‘Appearance’, and click on ‘Enable and set default’’. Now, take a look at the website and proceed as follows: Step 1: Don’t panic Step 2: Place the blocks in the appropriate block region (these regions will be different for some themes) Step 3: Enjoy If you want to modify the theme, it is good practice to make a subtheme. This way, all custom changes will be kept when the theme is updated.

- Changing the themes appearance*
A good way to start is checking the customisable things in Drupal by navigating to ‘Appearance’ and clicking on the ‘settings’ link under the enabled theme. Often, you can change navbar settings, maybe some color settings etc. Next, you can apply CSS. Make sure to choose the correct ‘style.css’ file (for example in your custom subtheme). You could also add block regions etc . In Drupal 7 you can take care of that by changing the page.tpl.php file.
