Transfer of funds
Our current ways of transfer of funds are:
Check via mail[edit]
This is the cheapest and preferred option for us. The letter can be sent anywhere in the world, but the check will be denominated in US Dollars. If the recipient is outside the United States, they may not prefer this option as some non-US banks have a fee for depositing international checks in foreign currency.
Wire Transfer[edit]
We can do wire transfers, but they are not cheap. we pay the cost of wire transfers out of our running costs from the ISCB SC Annual Budget . So if we can have one person getting reimbursed in relation to a symposium, that is preferred to having multiple people shop for things
Cash[edit]
Under Special circumstances, like an non-US based symposium, we have previously asked Diane, the ISCB Executive Director , if the could bring cash for award recipients. This was due to multiple people receiving small amounts.
Other Services[edit]
We have submitted a request to ISCB to use TransferWise as a replacement for expensive wiring fees.
